I received my TRUSS from Spec Gear and I’ve been using it for a few months now. In my 16 years of Law Enforcement experience, I have not come accross a better peice of equipment for undercover work or concealed carry of a firearm. Not only does the TRUSS hide away my gun, but it also carries other tradecraft tools that previously had to be retrieved from elsewhere if needed. The other added, yet unexpected benefit of the TRUSS is the back support it provides. I would recommend the TRUSS to other Law Enforcement Officers who need to carry important gear without others know it.

Hey guys, It was great meeting you… I’ve worn the holster everyday since I got it. I’ve run with it. I’ve qualified with it. Hell I even took my daughter horse back riding with it. I’ll tell you, its so comfortable that half of the time, I have to check and see if its still on. I just taught a class while wearing shorts and a short sleeve button down. I loaded the holster with every slot full of gear. My peers were amazed when I removed all the gear and set it on the bench. This was after running and jumping on a dash and shoot demo. Great holster guys. I’ll write back in a month with an evaluation.

Afghanistan: When operating in a combat zone I am not always able to wear full body armor and utilize tactical weapons systems. Operations often require concealed carry and it is essential to have a comfortable and completely concealed rig that will securely hold various weapons systems. The TRUSS will fit over soft armor when that is an option. The TRUSS offers excellent weapons retention for operations in crowds or when contact is likely. I highly recommend the TRUSS for any professional who must carry concealed regularly and for extended periods of time.

I have operated both OConUS and ConUS, various climates and venues, covert and overt, Marine infantry and recon, state certified law enforcement uniform, undercover and tactical ops, both military and civilian detention experience, personal security details both military and civilian. I have trained troops in all of the above. I have used and trained others in the use of personal, projectile, impact, improvised, bladed and flexible weapons along with explosives and various restraining devises. I have owned and operated multiple martial arts studios and trained thousands of civilians, law enforcement officers and military personnel, and now continue to assist in furthering the mission in any way that I can.

I have seen, used, tested and own a lot of gear. For the undercover law enforcement mission, I have seen nothing that comes even close to the TRUSS. Not only does the individual have all needed gear securely at their fingertips, but also is able to blend with the environment and maintain surprise and stealth. From a training point of view, the positive transfer of previous learned skill sets allows the operator with a minimum amount of time to develop a confidence in the use of the TRUSS and the deployment of tools. This confidence in the gear rolls over into the mental and physical attitude of the fighter. Even though the gear does not make the person, it definitely does not hurt to use top notch quality equipment to assist oneself with life and death decisions. As a grunt, it also never hurts that your system is the most reasonably priced I have seen. I could continue, but I have written enough. Good job designing gear for the mission, by someone who does the mission, everyday. When the time comes, be willing, Frank

Finally, I have used both of my TRUSS’ holsters at this point. I have taken a couple plane trips with them, as well as used them during surveillances. I can say without a doubt that this is the most comfortable and pragmatic holster I have ever used when it comes to sitting for long periods. It is also very handy when one does not wish to wear an additional concealing garment, especially in hot weather. The band does an outstanding job of venting heat, with the result that it is not nearly as warm as I thought it would be.

The suspenders are a huge boon and the thing stays in place for me every time, despite being loaded with a Glock 21, two spare Glock 21 mags, an airweight ASP baton, a Surefire E2D flashlight and an Emerson CQC-11. When properly loaded and worn, it does not print with all this gear and allows the wearer to meander around without the usual tell-tale signs of being armed. As I said before, this is one hell of a product you have here, amigo. It is one I really wish I had thought of first. Nice job.

The TRUSS system is an amazing piece of equipment! I have used this product for the last three years and have absolutely no complaints. The TRUSS system holds all of my gear in place and is extremely comfortable and durable. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to conceal equipment while also looking professional at work. Other holsters only hold a gun and most do not allow you to tuck in your shirt. Moreover, other holsters give you limited options on clothing and making your appearance look sloppy and unkempt. The TRUSS system is an excellent concealment option that holds more equipment, more comfortably than any other item I have tested. Unlike an uncomfortable in the pants holster, the truss allows for the user to wear everyday jeans or slacks. I had to buy 4 new pairs of pants just so other holsters would fit comfortably in my pants. Finally there is a concealment option that allows me to be comfortable and look professional at the same time! Thank you for making such an excellent product!!

I’m a Federal Agent who operates covert on a regular basis. This holster is the real deal! I’ve used this TRUSS system since day one out of the academy. I have to carry all my issued gear and don’t like multiple holsters/pouches or having lots of items in my pockets. This holster accommodates them all in a comfortable system that I’ve worn seated for long periods of time and for over 22 hours with no complaints. I wear a full size duty weapon, 2 double stack magazines, a pair of handcuffs, a knife, and latex gloves. Friends and family are always surprised I’m concealing that much equipment that well. It’s made so well I still have 2 more places to carry an additional magazine, disposable restraints, or a flashlight. I find wearing a form fitting Under Armor shirt and this holster on top works the best. I use the holster so much; I’ve purchased both colors for use in different situations and clothing colors. Remember, “your guns and knives are tools, your mind is the weapon; train it well!”

I have been wearing the TRUSS holster for approximately one month. This is the most comfortable system to conceal equipment on the market. Can be worn all day without discomfort, and nobody has noticed the system before I chose to tell them. Thanks for a great solution!

I wore the truss system for years on the job as a Federal Air Marshall. Overall I was very satisfied. No other concealed holster I tried even came close. The truss could be worn 10-16 hours a day with weapon, spare mags, flashlight and folding knife while remaining comfortable. I was able to avoid the tell tell untucked shirt and sit for hours without the discomfort of a waist mounted holster. The holster kept the weapon and gear securely in place. The only drawbacks are the slower draw time and the additional body heat on warm days. The slower draw was offset in my opinion by not being so easily identified as someone carrying. I used mine every day for years with no discernible wear. It does collect sweat so it needs to be rinsed out on a regular basis.

The Truss Holster is in a category of its own. There are several key characteristics that set it apart from other products on the market. The Truss Holster allows you to carry while wearing a tucked in shirt without wearing a jacket. Because you aren’t carrying at your waist, it also allows you to carry comfortably while in a seated position for extended periods of time. These two factors are huge! In addition, this holster allows you to carry a lot of kit. Because the Truss distributes everything you’re carrying across your entire torso and keeps it tight to your body, you can easily carry extra magazines, handcuffs, and a light without feeling weighed down or like things are going to come loose. Overall I’m very satisfied with my Truss holster. **I highly recommend going with the strong side draw. I thought it would be an awkward draw because of how high it sits until I tried my buddy’s holster. It really is the way to go.*

After looking for a holster for quite sometime I finally found the Truss Holster and figured I would give it a shot. I was surprised at the quick shipping and the customer service was outstanding! Once I recieved my holster, I immediately started wearing it. I carry a Glock model 27, one extra magazine, and a small flashlight in mine. With all of that I still have plenty of room for anything else I may want to add. I am wearing my Truss Holster on a daily basis for 10-15 hours a day and have yet to be uncomfortable or have any problems with it. Thank you for your product and great customer service.

I would give this product 10 stars if I could. I took a chance on the product and didn’t hold out hope that it would be any different than anything else I’d tried. I was pleasantly surprised. This is a quality product, made well, and seems that it should be very durable. Worth every penny. If you have a need or a desire to carry a full size duty handgun in a belly band, along with magazines, flashlights, pepper spray, etc, this is the solution. I’ve been wearing this from 8 to sometimes 16 hours a day with no discomfort. As a matter of fact, I bought this one because it was very wide and had shoulder straps. Didn’t even need the shoulder straps. Took them off and it stays just fine even fully loaded. Glock 17, 2 magazines, a Surefire 6P, and a small pepper spray container with no problems.

The only, only 2 possible improvements might be 1) ability to relocate or remove the retention strap. I love having the retention strap but it does lay over the grip safety of some models of handguns. 2) added leather exterior to protect trigger a la Galco Underwraps. Those aren’t complaints. I will tell everyone I know to buy one

There is not enough stars here for this product. Over 12 years as a uniformed police officer I have used countless rigs for my backup weapon, and not one comes close to the TRUSS system. I wear the TRUSS over my ballistic vest and under my uniform shirt to carry my backup Kahr CW-9 9mm. The extra pockets allow an extra set of cuffs, extra mags, tourniquet, and knife. The way the items lie it is almost invisible that I have an extra weapon under my shirt. In the physical altercations I have been involved in, the TRUSS has held everything in place securely, and I do not use the weapon retention strap. The TRUSS has held up exceptionally well, and have worn the same one almost 2 years now (I never got more than 6 months out of anything else) before I am going to have to replace it (the placement of gear on my duty belt rubs against my weapon, especially when I’m sitting in my squad car). If used as strictly a conceal rig and not put through the ringers as an on-duty back up weapon rig I got no doubts it would last forever, and with the abuse I’ve put it through, it has lasted forever compared to everything else I’ve tried. Customer service is absolutely outstanding. I have found my back up rig for life.

I have been a cop for over 35 years and have had many many holsters for concealed carry. I worked in both plain clothes and covert assignments and have carried my weapons IWB and OWB. A friend of mine is a FAM and she swore that this was one of the best rigs she had found. While a little skeptical, I tried it out. This is a GREAT system. It is comfortable, holds a great amount of equipment (magazines, flashlight, knife, and handcuffs. The weight distribution is excellent and balanced with the support straps. The TRUSS also provides a degree of back support with all of that EDC equipment. I was pleasantly pleased and am considering buying another TRUSS in white. Black works very well.

Just received my TRUSS holster 3 days ago and it is the most comfortable holster I have ever used. I almost forget I have it on because you don’t even feel it there. Definitely a quality product.
